Fitted wardrobes earn their keep. A proper bespoke wardrobe run uses every inch of an awkward bedroom — sloping eaves, chimney breasts, off-square corners — and turns it into calm, organised storage that disappears into the wall.
Crown Carpentry builds fitted wardrobes for homes across Jersey, from converted granite farmhouses on the north coast to new builds and apartments in St Helier. Every wardrobe is designed around the room, not picked from a brochure, so the carcasses sit tight to the wall, the doors line up cleanly, and there is no wasted gap above or beside the unit.
We start by visiting the room. We measure floor, ceiling, and walls in three places each, because old Jersey houses move and modern plaster lies. We then design the internal layout around your wardrobe contents: long hanging for coats and dresses, double hanging for shirts and trousers, drawers for folded clothes, open shelving for shoes, and a top box for the things you only get out twice a year.
The carcasses are built in the workshop in high-density MDF or solid timber, depending on finish. Doors can be hinged or sliding, painted, veneered, or in a frame-and-panel shaker style. Inside, we use soft-close runners, full-extension drawers, and good-quality wardrobe rails and lift-out trays. Lighting can be wired in if you want it.
On install day we protect the floor, scribe the units to the wall, fit the doors, and adjust until every gap is even. Painted finishes are sprayed in the workshop where possible and touched in on site. The result is a fitted wardrobe that reads as part of the architecture, not a piece of furniture parked against a wall.
